Litecoin Halving Countdown
Track the countdown to the next Litecoin halving, including remaining blocks, estimated timing, and the scheduled reduction in LTC mining rewards.
COUNTDOWN TO THE
NEXT LITECOIN HALVING
Follow remaining blocks and the reward schedule leading to Litecoin’s next halving.
Estimated date & time: 26 July 2027, 01:38 UTC.
The Litecoin block subsidy will decrease from 6.25 LTC to 3.125 LTC.
Next Litecoin halving will be at block 3,360,000
What Is the Litecoin Halving?
The next Litecoin halving will take place at block 3,360,000. At that point, the Litecoin block subsidy will fall from 6.25 LTC to 3.125 LTC per block.
The countdown above estimates the date and time from the current Litecoin block height and the network’s target interval of approximately 2.5 minutes per block.
The exact date may move forward or backward because the halving is activated by a specific block height—not by a fixed calendar date. Individual blocks can be produced faster or slower than the target interval, so the estimate becomes more accurate as block 3,360,000 approaches.
How Does the Litecoin Halving Work?
Litecoin Halving History
Litecoin has completed three halvings since the network launched. Each event has reduced the block subsidy by 50%.
| Event | Block | Date | New Block Subsidy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Litecoin launch | 0 | 7 October 2011 | 50 LTC |
| First halving | 840,000 | 25 August 2015 | 25 LTC |
| Second halving | 1,680,000 | 5 August 2019 | 12.5 LTC |
| Third halving | 2,520,000 | 2 August 2023 | 6.25 LTC |
| Fourth halving | 3,360,000 | Estimated July 2027 | 3.125 LTC |
| Fifth halving | 4,200,000 | Estimated in 2031 | 1.5625 LTC |
Future halving dates cannot be known with complete precision. The halving blocks and subsidy reductions are fixed, but the calendar dates depend on how quickly miners produce the remaining blocks.
The live estimate above was calculated from Litecoin’s current block height and its 2.5-minute target block interval. Live network data can be independently checked through
What Happens When All Litecoin Has Been Mined?
Litecoin’s block subsidy will continue to decrease through future halvings. Eventually, the subsidy will become too small to produce another full litoshi—the smallest unit of Litecoin—and new LTC issuance will stop.
Litecoin’s total supply is capped at 84 million LTC, with the final coins expected to be mined around 2142.
Once the block subsidy reaches zero, Litecoin miners will no longer receive newly created LTC. They will instead depend primarily on transaction fees paid by Litecoin users.
This transition will happen gradually over many decades rather than immediately after a single halving.
